COVID + Police Discrimination

I was happier than I had been in years during the summer of 2020. My Old Landlord, who has some sort of relationship with law enforcement, seemed to be an okay person at first, even helped with a box into my new apartment in Blue Island, Illinois. Things would change, when I spoke to him about me supporting Americans getting the COVID Vaccine.

I made an appointment for a later time and received my first dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine at Saint Xavier University. I recall seeing and hearing about police officers opposing the Covid vaccine, politicians debating the issue, and communities—particularly the black communities—fighting over who should receive the vaccine and wear face masks. All of this created chaos and intense interactions with the police. It was hot that year like really hot, and I am non-denominational religious type of person. And in time of mass infections disease like Covid spreading, people suffering dying, and wars beginning.. you pray in your home and when especially alone. I must of been experiencing some type of dehydration and heat wave, because I forgot to go to my second appointment at Saint Xavier University, for the second Covid shot on July, 21st 2021 I called and rescheduled to July 22nd, 2021.

The next day, I prepared myself by donning my hijab, with a face mask over it, blue jeans, an army green shirt, a navy blue fleece hoodie, and grey Timberland boots. I wore sunglasses in case I became dazzled by the sun. Even though I was really hot, I was focused on improving my health and urging people to oppose the police and get vaccinated. I was getting off a bus on my way home when a man, his wife, and his daughter crowded and blocked the little sidewalk close to the bus exit. I just indicated to stay six feet away by raising my hand and shifting my foot an inch to the right. Before I could keep going, this very angry man(now known as an off duty cop) pushed me and said some racist remarks about me being a Muslim.

As I continued to move in the opposite direction, I let my feelings get the better of me and yelled, “Screw you,” giving him the finger. Other than this interaction, all I could think about was how prejudice he was to me. I was followed by a red-headed woman in a navy blue dress, the off-duty police officer, an unidentified person, and an alderman (who subsequently leaped to the off-duty police officers’ rescue by phoning and lying in his 911 call). While awaiting my return trip to Blue Island by pace bus. Suddenly I’m standing, next to Nicks Beverly, a police squad car nearly ran me down. I tried getting out the way, thinking he was after someone else, walking attempting to cross the street, the cop then yelled something at me. While first snatching my sunglasses off my face, my hijab, my face mask and my left boot. Before I could even think and re act calmly to what was going on I was attacked and beaten up by not only the responding officer, but that off duty cop.

I saw the off-duty police officer sprint across the street. I made an effort to return to the bus stop, speak with the officer, and figure out what was going on. He literally runs and tackle me, while on top of me he’s throwing punches, at a woman(what a coward), as I covered my face, I screamed bro stop I’m a girl. He then states “ I don’t care what you are” as if he thought I was a guy pretending to be a woman. Then literally punches his self in the face, NBS! I tell no lie, when it comes to my life, this dude went psycho on me, then himself! (I feel bad for the women in his life) that’s pent upped anger.

I was jumped on, tackled suffered a small sprain in my neck, and subjected to unfair treatment, improper due diligence, and racial profiling by at least fifteen different police officers as more officers arrived and others joined in. None of them ever respected me, spoke to me calmly, or gave me an opportunity to clarify what the off-duty police officer had made up to bring the police to the site in the first place. Never once! The first arriving officer was the first to lie on the stand, claiming that I had pushed him and caused his injuries while I was simply standing there. God physically demonstrated his demonic behavior to him while it was unfolding, him pushing me, and the wind pushing him down as I just stood there. I didn’t even need to move.

In the court proceedings, Chicago police questioned and intimated me while I was literally going through a mental collapse. Booked at the 26th Street courthouse and given legal representation. I witnessed the off-duty police officer testify at the trial that he was colorblind..the Blind leading the Blind! Like you can’t respect me or treat me fairly because I’m to dark? and you’re color BLIND. Whoa!

Now, if you got a health issue, you got a health issue, but to use being color blind as a crutch while you on the stand, is low, and shows you right there the criminality and corrupt activities taking place, and not only the Alderman office, law-enforcement agencies around the world, but especially Chicago police and Racist Indiana Cop’s.

I was found not guilty of battery against law enforcement by Juror. The accusation of resisting arrest, (which was likewise false), was dismissed. The jury was difficult to choose since the majority of the members are relatives of police officers; one man claimed to be bias, and another African-American minority member was disqualified due to an prior arrest. They even included a lady on the jury who was sporting a Northwestern sweater. Given my conflict of interest at Northwestern University during all of this, I found it strange that she could have been a student or employed there. She read the verdict also. It appeared as though someone was providing false information about me. Not to mention Stanley Sacks, my judge, who has been sitting on the court for almost a century. I was certain that I was in the thick of someone else’s political term oil and that the system was flawed.

Time is money

Would it ever end? I was also optimistic about the future because I had recently taken a position with Pace Transportation. I was delivering groceries on 59th and Western in Chicago, but my, was I mistaken.

Suddenly, a black four-door car’s driver used the brakes, tapping the guy in front of him and fully shoving my new automobile in front. Now for the tears: I don’t have the money or time to get the car restored, I had full coverage, and my insurance discovered that the owner’s boyfriend wasn’t authorized to be driving. This has happened previously, and the woman gave me her information rather than the boyfriends’. When the cops arrived, I told them that I was sobbing because I didn’t have the money to repair this. I finished the delivery, drove home, and tried to lead a regular life after they gave me the police report. Days later, I came up to take my air break exam for pace transportation. Everyone was staring at my car like, “Dang,” so I explained what had happened and went inside to take the test. I ultimately told them that I wouldn’t be able to take the position due to life circumstances since I couldn’t concentrate and was in emotionally distress from everything that was going on.

JUST BEING TICKETED, ILLEGALLY WATCHED, HARASSED, TARGETED BY POLICE FOR LIKE THE 100TH TRAFFIC STOP IN A LIFETIME 🙍🏾‍♂️✊🏾

I haven’t had a work for months, my car was still wrecked, insurance only paid half the repair cost, and I don’t know what will happen next. I made the decision to go to Indiana in search of a high-paying entry-level position. It doesn’t matter since police harassment persisted, particularly from my landlord, Stephen Stanwick, who also made up calls and told false claims to the police. The flat was in perfect shape when I left, and I moved out without any issues and headed to Indiana. It was undamaged, but he took my $1900 security deposit, and said that it was.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but they did nothing since he was lying. I had renters insurance from the same office as Stephen, American Family Insurance. The better business bureau did nothing and the apartment was left in great condition. He had no reason to rob me— Stephen Stanwick is a crooked slumlord, who works alongside law enforcement to ruin people lives. He took some of my mail as well.. probably had cameras in my home, wouldn’t put it past him!
