Working at Denny’s a crime filled franchise
Hello, this is about my most recent experience working as a Denny’s server in Bolingbrook Illinois. As must of you know I am quite skilled, and have discovered racism and hostile work place environments, all over the world; from the Chicago Cubs, to AF1 security and Denny’s of course.
This going to be a short post, I got hired on October 8th 2025, which is ironically, the date me and my Ex Fiancé started dating, October 8th 2014. And also that date is significant to the Chicago Cubs, who didn’t win a game for a 108 years because of the Billy goat rumors.
but I was wrongfully terminated on 11/6/2025
I hadn’t even been there a week when I realized what this franchise was all about. Let’s start with the customers; the majority of them are Latino or African American, with the Caucasian population accounting for about 25%. The place is open 24 hours a day, and many homeless men and women come here just to sit; I even had to call the cops on a lady who brought a beer into the store and refused to pay.
I routinely witnessed guests enter the bathroom with a bag of cocaine. Juan, the server, would frequently visit the restroom to take his daily pop breaks.
The men’s restroom resembled a nightclub, and everyone from delivery drivers to neighborhood goons frequented this restroom. One time, I saw a group of three young black men stand outside the restroom with their foot on the door, preventing their friend from leaving. I said, “Hey, you can’t do that,” and they left.
In terms of management, my supervisor Lisa, who appears to be a band vocalist in the band Identity Crisis, appeared calm from the start. She told me a lot of sad tales about the individuals she assisted, but after being her therapist for about an hour into my shifts, I realized she wasn’t popular with many of Denny’s’ male supervisors. She would frequently complain about how they didn’t respect her and how Juan had been written up multiple times for insulting her.
Jesus, the General Manager, is a guy who conceals his true identity. He is a false prophet; after employing me and seeing how quickly I worked, he appeared to be OK. Then he became dominating, hostile, and prejudiced against me. It began by informing me that I was doing well in sales and that I had mastered the menu well, while the other staff were gossiping about me. Because they see you. Then started saying things like, I don’t like the way you’re doing things, yelling at me every morning when he comes in to relieve me of my shift.
Long story short, they launched a contribution campaign, and on the first day, I received an enormous amount of donations; the next day, just one or two, and the next day, a handful. My final day, only a few. It’s the same damn customers every day, and I’m not going to sell them, the same item they have bought already.
Grumpy Jesus comes in the morning and literally tells me I need to sell more donations; I respond I’m trying, he replies no you’re not. We’re having a discussion; I’m not shouting, but he is. I let him finish his statement before trying to react, but he doesn’t care and urges me to stop speaking.
His new manager was standing there, telling her, “You’re a boss, you can see this embarrassment,” and they both started yelling at me. I ignored her since she didn’t even know me, and this was supposed to be a private chat between me and my supervisor, but he wanted to make an example of me. And he did, yelled at me, “Just leave.” So I went home; it’s 7 a.m., my shift is finished, and I don’t have to be back til 10 p.m.
I never took anything from this Denny’s, nor did I threaten anyone. Jesus shortened my hours because I did not make enough donations, and he retaliated against me. I was quite nice to everyone, especially the customers and the employees who may be undocumented immigrants. Especially the cooks and dishwashers. The customers adored me, and they even made a movie during one of my shift’s that featured me serving their meals. Everyone was jealous from the start; no one noticed that I was suffering and working my tail off to remain afloat; instead, they saw how rapidly I excelled and saw me as a threat.
Especially Juan, who works two jobs and worked with me overnight. He farted all the time and continuously addressed me as sir after I informed him that I was born a woman. One time, a couple sat down, and I gave them some beverages and said their waiter will be right with them. Juan yelled NO THAT’S MY TABLE, and the clients respectfully interrupted; I request you, not him!
I was merely doing my job, which I was good at. I had no idea when I walked in that day that Lisa would be waiting for me with a clipboard and a document declaring that I had been dismissed. I declined to sign and was never given a reason; I did not breach any corporate laws or procedures, nor did I do anything that would result in my termination. A prejudiced Jesus, high management, a new recruit, bullying, and a toxic work divorcement within a workforce dominated entirely by MEN were the reasons I was wrongfully terminated.
I really did nothing except defend myself, and this Denny’s location has previously harmed others. Taylor Hill, the dishwasher who worked here before I arrived, informed me that if his hours were inaccurate, he would resign. He too worked two jobs, was in college, and was a musician like me; he also mentioned that his auntie is Lauren Hill. Very cool dude. But he ended quitting, reason was because who told management that the 17 year old, waiter touched his waist.. and he didn’t like that, I heard he went ballistic that shift, told her to stay in her lane, told our managers who did nothing, and they never saw him again.
Let this be a lesson to all of you out there, be aware of this pattern with all companies who hire people and just want to fill bodies, they don’t care about the growth of the people. And we have rights; we’re simply trying to put food on the table. I never received my last paycheck, because their blood money is not valid in the house of the Lord, who is the only one who will have the last say.
Jesus’ son, “Franco,” recently signed with the Cincinnati Reds. Unlike his father, who has a god complex and dislikes seeing women succeed, I wish the baseball player the best. However, his families/father’s actions and microaggressions will remain the same..
