Using Your Unique Shape to Serve God

Do your best to present yourself to god as one approved, a workman who does not to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

2 timothy 2:15

Question to Consider: God Deserves My Best.

Something To Think About: How can I best use what God has given me?

Answering this question is not as easy as it appears. Life is made out to be as tough as most people believe. We work full-time jobs expecting to earn more money for our efforts, but nothing compares to the time wasted as a result of a poor work-life balance. That is why we desire far more than what God has already provided. The Lord hears and works to answer everyone’s prayers, yet if you ask for food and he provides you precisely what your appetite desires, you don’t ask for a lobster. The same is true for having a profession; you desire a high-paying job, but whining about the hours or the labor is like saying, “Thanks God, but I’d like something different.”

I know I’m not the only person on the earth who has forgotten what it means to use what God has already provided for us. Every day, I look for new ways to learn and apply what he has given me so that I might someday help others.

The greatest way to use your life is to serve God in whatever shape you are. To do this, you must find, accept, appreciate, and develop the shape he has given you.

God wants you to discover your own unique shape. Begin discovering and clarifying what God intended for you to be and accomplish.

First, evaluate your strengths and abilities:

My actual shape, as God intended, is I appreciate writing and reading because it allows me to share my real-life experiences, including my struggles, sorrow, and victories. I believe others are perplexed by my relationship with the Lord and the universe, and while most people aren’t as nice, open, or honest at first, I believe God created me to help others and tap into who they need to be, their real shape, so that they, too, may reach their true destination.

My abilities, I believe, are what encourage individuals to do something positive for themselves or others without resorting to violence. I frequently encounter individuals at their lowest points, and they first believe they will get something from me, such as money or something of worth, for their own personal benefit.

And, while I am quite generous, that is not always the case, I try to show others how there is hate and violence inside our own communities, and how to grow from it, as well as why African Americans have the greatest rate of mortality from our own kind, and how God is teaching us to be better than that.

Next, think about your heart and personality:

Hmm, if I actually evaluate my heart and personality, I must keep this response concise, because I could go on and on about how much I am a hopeless romantic, endearing, gullible, lovable, eccentric, and so on. But, genuinely, I am only human; I feel sorrow, emotions, anger, happiness, Celebrate my accomplishments, milestones, etc. But there’s something I know God gave me that truly distinguishes me from the rest, which is why people criticize, treat me unjustly, stare at me as if I don’t belong, ignore me. Because I’m not stuck in the gift he gave me, I can view things as they are, hope for the best, and share what I’ve found with those who are kind and on their own path.

Third, reflect on your experiences and extract the lessons you’ve learnt.

My first true personal experiences were in my job sector, when I attempted to pursue my own ambitions while also being subjected to society’s unjust, uneven, and male-dominated workforce. I quickly learned that when others watch you pursuing your ambition while working for the Chicago Cubs and also being a part-time musician, others get resentful and envious of you. Begin spreading rumors and falsehoods. Saying stuff like “shes nobody” and “she will never have a hit single” Instead of asking how they can pursue something they are passionate about. People sometimes underestimate the amount of effort and attention required to achieve a lifelong desire or passion.

So I’ve learnt a lot of lessons, and I’m continuously learning, developing, and attaining new levels of success, but I realized decades ago that you must be kind to people, don’t judge them, cooperate, and inspire others to connect with one another. And the most important thing I’ve learnt to this day is that if you don’t love yourself first, you won’t be able to love or serve others.
